Feria de las tapas

The festival of Tapas 2008 were held a few days back in La Feria and, of course, we had to give it our support.
I’ve had it whispered in my ear that plates were once used to cover (‘tapar’) wine glasses against flies. When someone put some food on the plate ‘tapas’ was born. I can only assume that the flies were more thirsty than hungry in those days.
I didn’t know tapas could be sweet. May be they can’t and these temptations are just intruders.
Argentinians prepared the meat on crosses. Last time I saw this was in San Jacinto, Tarija.
