Bruce Willis at a bus stop

You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy night, when you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus:
- An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
- An old friend who once saved your life.
- The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.
Knowing that there can only be one passenger in your car, whom would you choose?
Bruce Willis was asked this in the film 16 blocks. What is your answer?
I was asked the question in a school assembly today called ‘Thinking out of the box’. I am not too proud of my answer: “Put the three in the driver seat and be the only passenger there is room for.”

Well this is easy. The perfect partner I’ve been dreaming about happens to be my wife. I’d take her, but I’d have to ask her why she was waiting for the bus.
The question also specifies that I am in my car – it has seats for five plus it’s a station wagon so there is technically room in the back as well. I can’t think of many situations where I wouldn’t be able to take more than one. The elderly lady would definitely get a ride as well as my old friend.

I have a two-seater convertible! yay!
So anyway, I’d lend the car to the friend, with the provisio that he takes the old lady to the hospital, and wait for the bus with the perfect partner…all my philanthropic shenanigans of the past few minutes should surely serve as a decent icebreaker. We’d then take the bus downtown, grab dinner and a movie, then take a cab (first making sure it has space for two passengers) to her home where we watch extremely violent action movies over single malts, then head upstairs to the bedroom.
Further, deponent sayeth not.
