Who’s on third?

- Last night I was watching baseball on TV.
- I thought you were more into basketball?
- The screen showed the pitcher getting ready to serve up a fastball to the batter.
- What is a fastball?
- The pitcher, who was closer to the camera than the batter, took up a lot more of the TV screen – in fact, he  was half again as tall on the screen as the batter was.
- Where on the field was the camera?
- Exactly what I was wondering!

    Don’t you have to know something about the heights of the pitcher and batter to figure this out?

    I don’t know, but they could be p and b respectively.
